Caterpillar Room

Age range: 4 months – 1.5 years

Staff Ratio: 1: 3 (where the children are under 1) 1:5 (where they are over 1)

Welcome to our Caterpillar room where we cater for babies aged from four months and up. We have a bright, colourful play room with a wide range of toys.

We also have sensory equipment that promotes babies development and growth. Caterpillars provide a safe and nurturing environment for babies to have fun and explore. Activities are planned based on the babies’ abilities and interests, following Aistear & Siolta. Some of our activities include painting, cornflour, bran, sticking and gluing, water and sand play which aim to help and promote their holistic development.

Caterpillars routine includes free-play, small group time using Highscope, music time and outdoor play. We have a separate sleep room with cots for each of the babies. We aim to make parents and babies feel as comfortable as we can, as they start this new childcare experience.
