Butterfly Room

We in the butterfly room cater for children 1 to 2 years old. In the room we aim to recognise develop and appreciate the uniqueness of each child and help them to develop their own personalities and to embrace and share others differences.

We provide a wide range of activities to aid all areas of child development which include, home area, book area, farm & zoo animals, cars, messy play (eg. Sand area, water area, construction play, puzzles etc.)

We also provide structured play where the child sits or stands at the table doing messy play, painting with brushes, sponges and pasta painting. We focus on the needs and likes of the individual child building on his/ her strengths. Children are encouraged and allowed to lead their own play and supported when needed. We provide a safe comfortable area for the children to play, learn, enjoy and grow.

We also have a quiet area and sleep room for children to read and sleep when needed. Children also get the opportunity to go outside where we do not plan any specific activities, we observe child’s behaviour play and mixing with other children. Most of all we have fun through different types of play.
